She was preceded in death by her husband, William Owen Stokes; parents, Leonard A. Fisher and Gussie Mae Kinser Fisher; grandson, Gene Marshall; and two great-grandsons: Justin Britt and Nicholas Wyatt.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Ponder of Riddleton, Carolyn Stokes and Johnnie Lee Davis, both of Cleveland, Connie Sloan of Hartselle, Ala., and Linda Crisp, Sandra Clayton and Tonya Hutton, all of Georgetown; six stepchildren; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorene Duran of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; and brother, Ernest Fisher of Cleveland.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Revs. James Hughes and Paul Bowman officiating.
Interment will follow in McInturf Cemetery in Birchwood with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
