He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. He earned his master’s degree in engineering from UTC and was retired from Miller Industries in Ooltewah. He belonged to the East Ridge Masonic Lodge No. 755 and was a Scottish Rite member and a Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Wesley Phillips Sr.; and mother, Dorthea Jane McPherson Phillips.
Survivors include his daughter, Anne Marie Phillips Landin and husband, Lance, of Cornelius, N.C.; granddaughter, Cadance Landin of Cornelius, N.C.; sister, Carolyn Yates of Rutledge; one niece; and one nephew.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastors Randy Martin and Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., concluding with a Masonic Service at the funeral home.
