Martha “Marty” Jones Dyer, 63, of Chattanooga, went to her Heavenly home Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
She was of Baptist faith and attended Tyner High School (class of 1968). She loved everyone she met, never met a stranger and worked hard all her life to care for her autistic son and others who needed her. She was an asset to her community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Dyer; parents, Ruth and Arvil Jones of Chattanooga; and brother, Donnie Jones of Chattanooga.
Survivors include her sons: Eric Dyer of Dalton, Ga., Ronald J. Dyer and Clint Dyer, both of Chattanooga; grandchildren: Lillian, Leaf, Eduardo and Daniella Dyer; sisters: Bobbie Chapman of Alabama and Carolyn Ragan of Chattanooga; and several special nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family extends appreciation to the Community of Pikeville, and the entire staff of Erlanger Bledsoe Hospital for their generous support to the family and wonderful health care for Marty.
Visitation will be in Brainerd Hills Church of God from 5 to 8 this evening and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Rev. Mike Stanifer will conduct the service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in the church.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
