He was born in Paul Smith, N.Y., and was a native of Cleveland before moving to Mobile.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He received three Purple Hearts and several other medals. He worked as an offshore oil man for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Lee and Vernon Crary; and special friend Ronnie Holifield.
He leaves behind four sisters and their husbands: Donna and Patrick Dwyer, Sandy and Kenneth Baker, Jackie and Larry Freeman and Judy Parks; a special friend, Dedra Holifield;and several nieces and nephews.
He will be laid to rest at Wilson Annex Cemetery in Mobile, Ala.
