The Goodwins spent time showing the alpacas to the group and explaining the difference in the fibers on the animals.
Members of the knitting group gathered in the Fuzzy Lilly Alpaca Shoppe for an afternoon of knitting, chatting, alpaca watching and, of course, deciding which of all the beautiful alpaca yarn to purchase.
The day was so warm the Goodwins opened the shop doors leading into the pasture. Being the curious animals they are, it didn’t take long for the alpacas to venture into the shop to check out the knitters.
The Rare Purls are knitting hats, sweaters and blankets to be given to the Knit 1 Bless 2 charity for infant orphans.
Anyone wishing to donate new yarn of any kind to The Rare Purls may drop the yarn off at the office of North Cleveland Baptist Church on Ocoee Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
