She was retired from Peytons with more than 15 years of service. She received her associate’s degree in accounting from Cleveland State Community College and was a tax preparer as a side job during tax season. But her biggest job, and the one she loved the most, was as wife and mother. She was a member of Thompson Springs Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Arvel and Mattie Jane Watson Clabough and was also preceded in death by her brother, Arvel Junior Clabough; her maternal grandparents, James and Ellen Reagan Watson; paternal grandparents, Henry R. and Mattie McCarter Clabough; her father and mother-in-law, the Rev. A.L. and Edna Tilley; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Bunch; and sister-in-law, Darlene Stiles.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dean Tilley; her twin sons: Arvel Tilley and Paul Tilley, all of Cleveland; her sisters: Stella M. Fletcher and her husband, Jeffrey, of Ringgold, Ga., Christine Miller of Cleveland, Lottie Stonecipher and her husband, Arless, of Ooltewah; sister and brother-in-law, Arlen and Carol Fain; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leroy and Stella Tilley, Harold and Linda Tilley, Bobby Louise Tilley and Donnie and Gail Tilley; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Angela Polly of Athens.
A Remembrance of Life graveside service will be held today, Feb. 3, 2013. at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Casket bearers will be Jesse Kaylor, Jeff Tilley, Anthony Hicks, Bobby Tilley, Tyrone Tilley and Rick Tilley.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
