Steer and team ropers from around the Southeast will gather at Tri-State Exhibition Center in Cleveland Saturday at noon to practice and demonstrate their skills in the ring.

“This is a small roping event,” said Craig Thompson, organizer. “But we love to open these events up to the general public so they can bring their families and watch. No matter who you are, Western events are exciting.”

This Saturday will feature team roping events. Team roping adds two horses and two cowboys (or girls), where the fastest time with no penalties wins. It takes a lot of precision, skill and most of all teamwork to win this event.

Admission to Saturday’s event begins at noon, and is free to the general public.

There are bleachers at the arena, but guests are invited to bring their own chairs if they want to sit close to the action. Tri-State Exhibition Center is located off Exit 20 in Cleveland.
