A Bradley County deputy reportedly resigned recently while an inquiry by BCSO officials continues.

Bob Gault of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office said deputy Casey Kerr recently had reported he struck a deer with his patrol car.

The incident occurred “approximately three weeks ago,” according to Gault.

He was not clear whether Kerr was on-duty or off-duty when the reported collision with the deer occurred.

“The inquiry is ongoing,” Gault said

“Kerr resigned his position with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office while the inquiry was under way,” Gault said.

No other information was available.
