Charles David Cameron Sr., 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Cleveland on Aug. 21, 1922, a son of the late John and Medie Cameron.

He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.

He was a very gifted craftsman and woodworker. He used his talents to build many things such as log cabins, furniture and grandfather clocks just to name a few. His hobbies included attending local auctions and gold panning with his brothers.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph Cameron and Earl Cameron.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Jane Walls Cameron; two sons: Charles D. “Chuck” Cameron Jr. of Knoxville and Gary L. Cameron and wife, Soying of Cleveland; sister, Joyce Walls; six grandchildren: Josh Cameron (Tabitha) of Knoxville, Destiny Arnold (Mason) of Nashville, Ashley Cameron, Sidney Cameron, Andrew Lau and Natalie Lau, all of Cleveland; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends tonight, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, 2412 Georgetown Road.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mark Cameron officiating. Entombment will follow.
