Bradley County falls in the top 15 counties in Tennessee for cervical cancer incidence with an age-adjusted rate of 11.6 per 100,000, compared to 8.6 statewide.
Tops and Bottoms includes practical information every woman needs to know and understand for optimal self-care.
A family nurse practitioner will present the information to help those in attendance make informed decisions about their health.
The program will include information about the HPV/cervical cancer connection, education on conducting breast self exams and how women can receive a mammogram or Pap smear.
A representative from the Tennessee Department of Health Breast and Cervical Screening Program will be available to discuss program eligibility criteria for free mammograms and Pap smears.
Tops and Bottoms is a collaborative effort of the Tennessee Cancer Coalition and the state of Tennessee’s Breast and Cervical Screening Program.
The mission of TC2 is to measurably reduce the burden of cancer on the citizens of Tennessee by implementing a collaborative statewide plan driven by data, science, capacity and outcomes.
Refreshments will be provided and attendees will have the chance to win door prizes, including a $25 gift card.
