The Cherokee Hiking Club will meet Feb. 21, 6 p.m., at the Royal Buffet Restaurant (formerly known as Ryan’s). A short business meeting will follow the dutch-treat dinner. Nonmembers are invited to attend.

The Bradley County Republican Women will met Thursday at Mountain View Inn. The guest speaker will be Mayor Tom Rowland, who will give the “State of the City” address.

The Polk County Republican Party will have its Reagan Day dinner Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Chilhowee Middle School in Benton. State and local officials will be speaking at the event. There will also be food. There will be no admission fee.

The Hiwassee Chapter of Trout Unlimited will meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church in Athens. The club meets regularly on the third Thursday of each month, September through May. More information is available at www.hiwassee.net.
