Mary Rebecca “Becky” Brackett, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2013, at the residence.

She was the daughter of the late Mattie Harper Green and Arnold Green.

She preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Brackett; her sisters: Chassie Payne, Laura Green, Oma Phillips and Edith Jones; brothers-in-law: Cecil Payne, Ed Phillips and Lawrence Jones; and sister-in-law, Anna Lee Green.

She worked for 30 years as a seamstress for American Uniform. She enjoyed going to church, being with her family, working in her vegetable garden, canning, crocheting and sewing.

She attended Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Ga.

Survivors include her son, Alan Brackett of Old Fort; brothers: Howard “Gilbert” Green and his wife, Viola, of Chatsworth, and Talmadge Green of Crandall, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. A special appreciation is extended to caregivers, Karen and Glen Jones.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 17, 2013, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Leroy Elliott and Elder Ed Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Dill Cemetery with Walter Jones, Glen Jones, David Smith, Kelly Smith, Dean Green, Steve Green, Rex Jones and Brian Smith serving as pallbearers.
