DC3 (SW) Jeremy Breese, son of Jack and Regina Breese of Cleveland, has re-enlisted for another four years of service to the U.S. Navy.
Petty officer Breese is currently serving aboard The USS Philippine Sea stationed in Mayport, Fla.
Breese, his wife, Kayde, and their daughter Braylee will stay in the area for at least another year of his service.
The captain of the USS Philippine Sea, Steve Shinego, made this comment of DC3 (SW) Breese’s re-enlistment.
“I see five things from the last two years that are wonderful about the Navy in these photos of the Breese family — a young sailor gets married, becomes a father, gets promoted, re-enlists, and shows his deep respect for a great CMC. Congratulations, Shipmate, and thanks for giving your Shipmates and your family your best daily.”
Desiree L. Buttars
Navy Seaman Recruit Desiree L. Buttars, daughter of Vanessa L. Buttars of Jacksonville, Fla., and Roger S. Buttars of Cleveland, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Buttars completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
The capstone event of boot camp is “Battle Stations.” This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet.
“Battle Stations” is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. Its distinctly ''Navy'' flavor was designed to take into account what it means to be a sailor.
Buttars is a 2012 graduate of Wolfson High School of Jacksonville, Fla.
