He is survived by his children: Archie Moats, Golda Coward, Edward Moats, and Thelma Valencia; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Moats and sister, Audrey Peters.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Chestuee Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
