Westmore Church of God Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra will present a special performance of “He Is” on Good Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Westmore Church of God.

This presentation features powerful choral and instrumental music that depicts the Easter story of celebration and humility.

“Easter is the time we celebrate Christ’s victory over death and the promise of eternal life for all who believe,” said Steve Allen, minister of music. “But it’s also one that encourages a deep sense of humility over the realization that Jesus suffered and died for us. We can never repay Him or do anything to merit that kind of sacrifice, nor can we truly comprehend that kind of unconditional love.”

Westmore’s music ministry will share the story of the death and resurrection of Christ and the power of God’s love as a gift to the community this Easter season.

“Our community is blessed with many churches who present wonderful worship experiences through music every holiday season,” Allen said. “Unfortunately, because we’re committed to our own worship services, we can’t enjoy presentations by other churches. This year we want to invite others to share our Easter worship experience at a time that won’t take away from attending their usual Sunday services.”

The evening of music and worship is free and open to the public.

“This is a great time for the community to come together and celebrate the Easter story,” Allen said, “but it’s also a time to celebrate the tremendous opportunity we have to live and work and raise our families in a faith-based community.”
