This book is a compilation of articles written for the Cleveland Daily Banner about Delk’s reminisces on how life was in rural America during the period between the two great wars, World War I and World War II. The series deals with many aspects of life throughout much of the country during that time.
Delk, a resident of Cleveland, is a former Cleveland State Community College public speaking teacher. He retired in May 2012 with a total of 57 years in education as a teacher/administrator.
The Book and Coffee reviews usually last one hour and FOLA provides the coffee.
Teens will be meeting March 14 at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone to create art and poetry from the pages of discarded books.
Tweens Book Chatter group will meet March 15 in the Storytime Room at 4:30 p.m. to discuss “Alvin Ho: Allergic to Girls, School & Other Scary Things” by Lenore Look. This group is intended for ages 7 through 10.
The library will be closed March 29 and March 31 in observance of Good Friday and Easter, respectively.
