Jimmy “Instigator” Dills, 68, a resident of Cleveland, went home to drive his big rig across Heaven’s highways on Saturday, March 9, 2013.

He was a well-known trucker for more than 45 years. He was employed with Brown Stove Works for 25 years before leaving to go to Dills Trucking to help his dad.

He was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Charleston, where he loved leading the choir and praising his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon “Pappy D” and Wilma Dills; and sister, Vivian Bandy.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jerri Dills; daughter, Greta Dills; son, Chad Dills and wife, Brittany; five grandchildren: Colby Dills, Katie Dills, C.J. Dills, Molly Kincaid and Gordon Dills; special friends and neighbors for 40 years, Lloyd and Robbie Frazier; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held today, March 12, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Davis and Andy M. Rymer officiating.

Interment will be held Wednesday, March 13, at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Colby Dills, Josh Bramlett, Randy Wooten, Monty Walker, Mark Walker and Dennis Bandy serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 this evening at funeral home.
