Wednesday was no different as the Ocoee Middle School golf teams battled the elements and hosted squads from Chattanooga Christian and Chilhowee Middle in an important district match.
Led by eighth-graders Kelsey Cassada with a round of 44 and Olivia Williams with 45, the Lady Colts galloped to a 14-stroke victory over Chilhowee and a 27-stroke victory over Chattanooga Christian. Danielle Bates led the way for the Lady Bobcats with a 44 for the nine hole round.
The boys were equally successful posting a team total 184 defeating the Crusaders and the Bobcats with totals of 213 and 240 respectively.
Parker Gray took medalist honors with a 44 while Colton Humbard, Nick McCracken and Gage Brakebill followed close behind with scores of 45, 47 and 48. Chilhowee was led by Garrett Jones who posted a 55.
The Lady Colts improved their record to 5-0 following the victories while the boys pushed their record to 4-1 after an early defeat at the hands of Riceville Elementary.
Both Ocoee Middle teams will take to the course again Monday at Chatata Valley to host crosstown rival Lake Forest.
