Steve Kirkpatrick, the late husband of drama director Terrie Kirkpatrick, was involved in the school’s productions for the past 17 years.
He would contribute by building sets, working on costumes and securing props.
“He donated every spare minute of his time to making sure the fine arts had a place at Ocoee Middle School and supporting all of his wife's endeavors in making the drama program a thriving one,” Terrie Kirkpatrick said.
Steve Kirkpatrick was killed in a boating accident while fishing in Alaska last summer.
There will be a special dedication made to Steve on March 15, opening night of “Brother's O'Toole” at Ocoee Middle School's Theater.
“Brothers O'Toole” was written by Tim Kelly.
The performance is today at 3 p.m. The cost per ticket is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door of the OMS Theater.
Lee University student teacher Amy Attia and OMS sixth-grade teacher Dave Fisher are the assistant directors for the play.
