Ingram celebrated his 78th birthday with friends, family and former teachers.
During the evening, Ingram was recognized for his 35 years of dedicated service to the teaching profession. A University of Alabama graduate, Ingram began his career in DeKalb County, Ga. He moved to Cleveland to become assistant principal at Cleveland High School.
He led Taylor School as principal until 1974, when he came to North Lee as principal.
During his 23 years at North Lee, he led the school through annexation and growth from a K-8 school to a stellar “magnet school.”
The North Lee Ruritan Club is the oldest community service club in the area. Chartered in 1950, it meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the North Lee cafeteria.
