Thomas Ray “Tom” Geren, 58, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday morning, March 21, 2013, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of this area being born in Cleveland on April 8, 1954, a son of the late Gean Thomas Geren.
He was of the Christian faith. He was employed with Bradley Health Care and Rehab as a social worker having worked there for many years. He enjoyed his job because it gave him great joy in helping others and making them laugh. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Betty Curtis Geren: two sisters: Kim Vansickle and husband, Keith, and Sandi Wooten and husband, Tony; two nieces: Amanda Brenizer (Justin) and Jana Wooten (William Lunny III); one nephew, Alex Vansickle; two great- nieces: Sophia Lunny and Tinley Brenizer; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lyle White officiating.
The service will conclude with military honors.
The family will receive friends in the parlor of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday night, March 22, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association in Tom’s memory.
