Copper Basin Elementary School was presented an American flag by the Woodmen of the World Lodge 16 following two days of real hands-on learning in their STARLAB portable planetarium. The STARLAB visit was sponsored by the Copper Basin High School RuriTeens. The STARLAB program offered the K-6 students at CBES a fun way of learning to recognize and locate constellations, stars and planets within thesolar system and to learn about weather, longitude, latitude, and other topics like NASA and its rover program. The topics covered will help to reinforce the students’ TCAP scores in science. The STARLAB is part of Woodmen of the World’s Outreach Program and is provided free of charge to schools.
