Samuel L. Neeley Jr., 87, a resident of East Ridge, passed away at a local hospital Sunday night, March 24, 2013.
He was a longtime member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel L. Neeley Sr., his mother, Ella B. Neeley; and four sisters: Eleanor Qualls, Virginia Tarvin, Olive Neeley and Sally Neely.
He is survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
He retired from TVA with 33 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country during World War II and also the Korean War.
The family extends appreciation to the managers and employees of Cracker Barrel at Shallowford Road and also East Ridge for all the love and kindness shown to him during his lifetime.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, on Belvoir Road in East Ridge, with Pastor Clifford Herd officiating. Exact time and date will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Samuel L. Neeley Jr.
