Joyce Evelyn Westveer, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, in a Mount Clements, Mich., health care facility.

She was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Westveer; parents, Ruiel and Bertha Queen; brother, Ralph Queen; and grandson, Hal Richmond Jr.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Ruth Patrick of Allenton, Mich., and Doug and Leslie Patrick of Palmer, Alaska; three grandchildren and spouses: Melissa Uhlianuk and husband, George, of Armada, Mich., Brian Patrick and wife, Beth, of Attica, Mich., Stephen Patrick and wife, Lindsey, of Clarkston, Mich.; a special stepdaughter, Karon Richmond and husband, Hal, of Sterling Heights, Mich.; three great-grandchildren: Olivia Patrick, Bradley Patrick and Luke Patrick; one sister, Dorothy Flowers of Cleveland; two brothers: Bill Queen and R.L. Queen and wife, Judy; one sister-in-law, Mary Queen, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jeannie Cissom officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
