Pauline “Polly” Beard Messer, a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at a local health care facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cleo Beard; two brothers: George Beard and Gene Beard; and one sister, Alice B. Beard.

She was well known for working at Rymers Snack Bar on Wildwood Avenue for many years and her volunteer work on the Alzheimer unit of a local nursing home. She was a member of the Boanerges Baptist Church.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories a loving and caring daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Ben White of Old Fort; two loving and caring sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Joan Beard and Charles “Togie” and Cindy Messer; one precious grandson, Justin Messer and granddaughter-in-law, Jill; four granddaughters: Amy, Christy, Talisha and Megan; eight great- grandchildren; one sister, Dean Cartwright; one caring sister-in-law, Hilda Beard; special friends and neighbors, Bill and Judy Rogers; and a host of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 28, 2013, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Randall Headrick and Chaplain Carl Caffery officiating.

Interment will be in Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Signature Health Care Facility for the love and care provided by the staff with a special appreciation to the CNA’S and nurses of the 400 hall.
