According to detective Bill Parks of Cleveland Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, a white male grabbed the elderly female’s purse and ran out of the store at the north Walmart location.
The incident reportedly occurred March 20, and CPD responded to the incident around 7 p.m.
According to Parks, the woman yelled to surrounding shoppers that someone had grabbed her purse. Several people gave pursuit but lost the suspect, but not before they were able to get a description of a car he was believed to have gotten in.
Parks noted the man possibly got into a 1980s or ’90s model Honda and left the scene.
The victim said her loss was somewhere around $200.

n Lt. Robert Harbison of CPD’s Criminal Investigations Division said today that investigators are searching for a suspect or suspects who egged up to a dozen cars during the weekend.
According to Harbison, officers responded to Spring Creek located at Veteran’s Parkway, early Saturday morning.
Damage estimates were not immediately available.
Harbison said investigation is continuing.
n Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Driver’s License Roadside Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County and Polk County during the next two weeks.
The checkpoints will be set up in random locations in the county.
According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the laws of the state.
All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
