The 18th annual Kids Arts camps sponsored by the Athens Area Council for the Arts will be in June at two school locations in McMinn County.

Kids Arts Camp is a one week camp experience for grades K-6, with daily classes in art, music, drama and dance. Kindergarten-age students must have completed that grade during the 2012-13 school year. Students may attend either camp week, beginning June 3-7 at Riceville Elementary School followed by June 10-14 at Westside Elementary School in Athens.

The theme for Kids Arts Camp 2013 is CELEBRATE JAZZ! The camp day is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each week, ending with a performance on Friday at 1 p.m. at the school.

Kids Arts Camp tuition is $65 per camper and some scholarships are available. Scholarship applications are available upon request at The Arts Center.

Camp director is Kay Frank, music and drama teacher at E.K. Baker Elementary School. All supplies are furnished, and campers are asked to bring their own lunch.

Camp registration forms are available at Riceville and Westside Schools and at The Arts Center, 320 N. White St. in downtown Athens. Registration deadline is May 30.
