Lady Flames fall to UTC

CHATTANOOGA — The NAIA’s 20th-ranked Lady Flames fell 7-0 to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Wednesday afternoon at the Champions Club.

The Lady Flames (2-4) will return to the DeVos Tennis Center Saturday afternoon to face Reinhardt University. The nonconference match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start as part of the weekend’s Lee Day festivities.

Chattanooga (15-3) swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 advantage. The Mocs’ strong play continued through the singles matches, dropping just four games as a team.

Christy North won two games from Jovana Pecovski in dropping the two sets with matching 6-1 margins.

Katie North lost 6-0, 6-1 to Alison Storie at No. 6 singles and Tonya Walters lost to Jenna Nurik by the same scores at No. 1 singles.
