Ginger Davis, director of Fiscal Services and coordinator of the annual event, is excited about this year’s sale. “Every year the sale just gets bigger and bigger. People in our community are so generous and graciously donate to this great cause. Every penny goes into the Benevolence Fund for the client at Life Bridges.”
All the revenue generated from the sale is used to buy items needed by the clients at Life Bridges. If someone needs a walker, or a wheelchair, or new bedding for their home, or to replace worn-out clothing, the money we collect from the sale is used for those things.”
“It is a wonderful event. It starts at 7 a.m. on Friday, May 3, and continues to 3 p.m. We love the fact that our neighbors and friends stop by, both to purchase items and to participate, often helping buyers load larger purchased items into their vehicles.”
Diana Jackson, COO, Dr. Luke Queen, CEO of Life Bridges, members of the board of directors, all management team members and all employees work very hard to stage this annual fund-raising event.
You can purchase hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and cookies prepared by the staff for a nominal charge and that money is also contributed to the Benevolence fund. If you decide to have lunch at the sale there are plenty of grassy areas to sit and enjoy your food, as well as a couple of picnic tables.
“We are exhausted by the end of the day,” Queen admits. “But it’s a good kind of tired, because we know how much this sale means to everyone.”
You can schedule the delivery of your donations by calling Ginger Davis at 303-1914.
