Shirley Ann Smith, 72, of Cleveland, walked into her mother’s arms to the peace and healing of Heaven, Thursday, April 3, 2013.
She was born Dec. 20, 1940, to Lola Houlk Evans and Edd Evans.
She leaves this earthly home a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and great-aunt with memories of so much love and happiness for us to cherish always.
She retired from Jackson Manufacturing as a seamstress after many years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Martha and Charlie Houlk and Lloyd Sr. and Louisa Evans; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She leaves to love and cherish her memory her husband of 56 years, Leonard D. Smith; son, Stacy Dee Smith; sister, Brenda Evans; brothers: Jimmy (Wanda) Evans and Gary (Teresa) Evans; nieces and nephews she loved as her own: Megan (A.J.) Antuna, Barry (Jennifer) Evans, Kaitlin, Brad and Eric Hufstetler; great-nephew and nieces, Jaxson Antuna, Lola Antuna and Brenley Evans who love their “Mimi” so much and were adored by her; aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.
Pallbearers will be Terry Evans, Dennis Evans, Alex Lawson, Andrew Lawson, John Dodson and Wesley Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Dodd, Fernando Gomez, Mike Lawson & Henry Ledford.
Visitation will be held Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church in Cleveland.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
