TDOT regional community relations officer Jennifer Flynn stated the Tennessee Department of Transportation said paving and striping crews and equipment will be working in the roadway.
“Drivers are urged to closely observe and follow any temporary traffic controls while this final work in the roadway takes place, for the safety of both motorists and highway workers,” she said.
Flynn said the final top layers of asphalt paving and traffic striping should be complete by the first week in May.
A new signal mast arm pole needed to make an adjustment to the existing signal pole at the intersection of the APD 40 and McGrady Drive is on back order, she said.
Due to nationwide demand and fabrication issues at the supplier, the delivery date of this metal pole is not expected until late May or early June, she said.
“Once it is received, the signal subcontractor will need some time to install this pole and reset the traffic signal heads, so technically, the project won’t be totally completed until the end of June 2013,” she said.
“But, most people won’t notice that because they’ll be driving on the new pavement.”
