Sullivan began his scouting career as a cub scout at Chattanooga’s St. Nicholas School before joining Cleveland’s Troop 10 at Broad Street.
The leadership and companionship of Troop 10 kept Sullivan supported and involved over the years, helping him reach his goal of Eagle rank.
With his troop, he has ventured near and far, created memories and crafted friendships. Many of these shared experiences were shared by fellow scouts at the Court of Honor.
For his Eagle Scout project, Sullivan designed and built a sand volleyball court at Johnston Woods in Cleveland.
Thanks to many thoughtful donations of money, time and energy, he was able to give back to the wonderful retreat he has enjoyed through both church and scouting activities.
After being named Troop 10’s Scout of the Year in 2012, Sullivan was also selected to represent the Cherokee Area Council of Scouting in the Report to the State event this year.
As a delegate from the Cherokee Area Council, he had the opportunity to speak on the Senate and house floors on a very special day for scouting in the state of Tennessee.
Sam plans to continue scouting through the Venture Scout Program Crew 2010 and will be taking part in a biking and canoeing trip to West Virginia in July.
Sam is the son of Julian and Hilda Sullivan of Cleveland and has two sisters, Charlsey and Ella Marie. He will graduate from Baylor School in May and attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the fall.
