All upcoming freshman interested in playing baseball for the Bradley Central Bears, are requested to meet at the McKenzie Baseball Complex field Tuesday, May 28 at 4 p.m. for tryouts. For additional information, email Patrick Spangler@pspangler@bradleyschools.org.


The Sharks baseball team will host Sharks Invitational baseball tournaments at Cleveland Middle School and Cleveland State Community College on the following dates: 13-under tournament May 10-12 at CMS, entry deadline is May 3; 14-under tournament May 17-19 at CSCC, entry deadline is May 10. The cost is $250 per team. Tournaments will be played under the Tennessee high school rules. Cleveland State will host a series of summer baseball tournaments at Cougar Field: June 1- 2, 16-under (enter by May 10); June 7-9, 18-under (enter by May 17); June 15- 16, 15-under (enter by May 24); June 22-23, 14-under (enter by May 31); June 22-23, 13-under (enter by May 31). The 15-under tournament and 16-under tournaments will be three games pool play and championship at a cost of $350. The 18-under tournament will be four games pool play and championship at a cost of $400. The 14-under and 13-under tournaments will be three games pool play and championship at a cost of $300. Tournaments will be played under the Tennessee high school rules.


Cleveland State Baseball Coach Mike Policastro will conduct the following summer Baseball Camps: Youth Skills Camp, June 3-6 for ages 6-12, with daily sessions from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost will be $75 and includes a camp T-shirt. The Youth Pitcher/Catcher Camp will be held June 10-12 from 9-11:30 a.m. The Youth Hitting Camp will be June 17-19 from 9-11:30 a.m. Both camps will be for ages 8-16. The cost for the camps is $60 per session and includes a camp T-shirt. There is a $5 discount per camp registration if a participant registers for more than one of the camps. The annual Bear Baseball Camp will be held June 10-12 at the McKenzie Baseball Complex on the campus of Bradley Central High School. With fundamental hitting, fielding and pitching instruction for ages 5-12, the camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. The cost is $50 per camper. The Colby Stansberry, "Heart of a Champion" 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 18, at Cleveland Middle School. Divisions include: High School, College to 29, 30 and over and 50 and over. Visit www.colbystansberry.net for a registration form. The Ocoee Middle Learn to Play skills camp for girl and boy basketball players ages five through middle school will be held May 20-22 from 5-8 p.m. at OMS. The cost is $45 and will cover shooting dribbling, passing and defense. All participants will recieve a free t-shirt. The camp will be run by OMS coach Joe Spencer and assistants. Registration will be the day of camp.


The annual Bearettes Basketball Camp will be held May 28-30 at Jim Smiddy Arena, with daily sessions running from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Open to ages 5-14, basic game fundamentals will be taught by coaches Jason Reuter, Kyle Copeland, Katie Frazier and current and former Bearette players. Camp fee is $55. Cleveland State Men's Basketball Coach Lee Cigliano will be conducting summer youth basketball camps in June and July for athletes ages 6-15. The camps will run from 9 a.m.-12 noon. The cost of the camps are $60 and include a camp T-shirt. The first Camp will be June 10-June 13. The second Camp will be July 22-25, 2013, for ages 6 - 15. Concessions will be available. Coaches Kent Smith, Chuck Clark and Patrick Spangler will he host the 17th annual Bradley Central Bears Basketball Camp June 3-5. The sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon and are open to ages 6-14. Basic game fundamentals will be taught with station instruction from coaches, current players and former Bears. The Cleveland Lady Raiders Basketball Camp for girls in upcoming grades 1-8 will run will June 3-5 at Cleveland High School from 8:30 a.m.-noon. The cost for the camp run by CHS head coach Mindy Kiser, assistant coaches Jaime Baird, Kari Jo Harris and CMS head coach Amy McGowan is $50 per camper. Individualized instruction in fundamentals will be taught with individual and team drills covering offensive and defensive concepts. The Cleveland Basketball Individual Camp for boys ages 6-15 will feature Vincent Yarbrough and be held June 17-19 at CHS. The cost for the camp is $50 with a brother rate of $85. The Bradley County Juniors Golf Clinic for ages 5-17 will be held at Cleveland Country Club on the following dates: June 3, 10, 17 and July 1, 22, 29. Ages 5-10 will go from 8-9:30 a.m. and ages 11-17 will go from 9:45-11:15. Pre-registration will be May 11, 18 from 9 a.m.-12 noon in the Golf Shop at CCC. A final tournament will take place Aug. 5. All tournament participants must attend four of the six instructional clinics to be eligible to participate. For more information, call (423)321-2779.


Chattata Valley Golf Club will host the Walker Valley Wrestling Golf Tournament June 13. Lunch will begin at noon with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. The cost of the 2-person, select shot tournament is $50 per person and includes green fee, cart and lunch. Prizes will be awarded for first through fifth and ninth place. Hole and cart sponsorships are also available.



The Kay McDaniel Tennis Clinic for boys and girls ages 6-13 will be held at Lee University June 3-7. The clinic is free and is for all skill levels. The girls clinics will run from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and the boys will run from 10:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. The first 350 boys and girls to register will be accepted. June 1, U16 to U18, boys and girls, 1 pm-3 pm.

June 8, U13, boys and girls, 10 am-12 pm.

June 8, U17 to U18, boys only, 10 am-12 pm.
