The Cleveland High School Science Olympiad Team recently competed at the State Competition against the top 17 high schools across the state after placing second in the region. The competition was held at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with events being held across the campus. Students showed tremendous dedication and teamwork. This year's standouts were the CHS MagLev team. This team consisted of five freshman: Staley Campbell, Oliver Conn, Graham Hammond, Will Hammond, and Nick Johnson. They designed and built a magnetic levitation vehicle which placed fifth in the state. In addition to demonstrating their vehicle, they were required to take a test on magnetism. CHS Science Olympiad coaches are Jeannie Cuervo, Mara Grisham, and Gabriela Tallent.
