The Ocoee Utility District has scored a 99 percent rating on its most recent Sanitary Survey of the Water System, according to information from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Division of Water Resources.

With this score the Ocoee Utility District will remain among Tennessee’s approved public water supplies.

The Sanitary Survey reviews the complete operation of the utility from plant performance, maintenance and upkeep, recordkeeping, analysis, treatment techniques and requirements, cross connection program, and other quality issues from water production to the distribution to the customers.

The only noted deficiency was the absence of a vacuum breaker on a hose bib in a chemical storage facility at one of the District’s water treatment plants.

The Ocoee Utility District has maintained a score on the Sanitary Survey of 95 or higher for the past 10 years.

The Ocoee Utility District provides water to a population of 17,881 in eastern Bradley and western Polk counties.
