Sue Trewhitt, 92, a resident of Huntsville, Ala. and formerly of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, May 18, 2013, in a Chattanooga health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Sophie Holbrook Jones and Sherron Jones. Her husband, Willard L. Trewhitt and her brother, Quinton Jones also preceded her in death.

She was a longtime hair dresser and was considered a wonderful flower and vegetable gardener. She supported her community by working for Meals on Wheels and she would give rides to people who had doctor appointments and would take people to their cancer treatment appointments. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Huntsville, Ala., where she was very active.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Paris and her husband, Joel D. Paris, of Ooltewah; her grandchildren: David D. Paris and his wife, Lt. Colonel Teresa Paris of Albuquerque, N.M., James S. W. Paris and his wife, April, of Hixson and Joseph L-A. Paris of Ooltewah; her sister, Ruth Harris of Norcross, Ga.; her brother, Johnny “J. R.” Jones of Murphy, N.C.; and her nieces: Pam Lovingood, Kimberly McMillian, Shauna Jones, Janice Jerkins and Karen Crowder.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. today, May 23, 2013, from the First Christian Church in Cleveland with Pastor Karen Bogart officiating.

A graveside service and interment will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.
