Edith Louise Cartwright Grissom, 72, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Pearl Guffey Cartwright and Winston Cartwright. Her sons: Arnold Voyles and Steve Voyles; her sisters: Stella Rose White and Annie Mae Young; and her brothers: Jim Grady, Earl and Robert Cartwright also preceded her in death.

She enjoyed riding in the mountains, working in her flower garden, fishing and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the New Beginning Fellowship Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd “Peanut” Grissom of Cleveland; her son, Hubert Ray Voyles Jr. and his wife, Linda; her daughter, Donna Webb and her husband, Mickle, all of Cleveland; her grandchildren: Christopher Swallows and his wife, Cathy, Billy Swallows and his wife, C. J., Amber Voyles, Arnold Voyles, Jacob Carpenter and Tyra Jones, all of Cleveland, and Lisa Johnson and her husband, Jimmy, of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; and several great-grandchildren who she loved dearly; her sister, Edna Lake of Cleveland; special niece, Mary Morgan, of Cleveland; and several other nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday May 24, 2013, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Guinn Green and Pastor Josh Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with Chris Swallows, Josh Anderson, David Pierce, Terry Underwood, Lloyd Grissom and Corny McCormack serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral homes.
