A leading literary agent and a best-selling novelist — Bruce Barbour and Angela Hunt — will give the keynote addresses at the 2013 Southern Christian Writers Conference. It will be held June 7-8 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The SCWC is one of the largest workshops in the nation.

Designed for both beginning and experienced writers, it will include instruction on writing and publishing books, magazine articles, novels and other topics. Sessions are geared to writers interested in both religious and secular publishing.

Details on the workshop may be obtained by contacting Joanne Sloan, SCWC Coordinator, P.O. Box 1106, Northport AL 35476 (phone 205-333-8603 or emailscwcworkshop@bellsouth.net).

Barbour is one of the world’s most notable figures in Christian publishing. He co-founded Barbour and Company and served as its executive vice president from 1983 to 1986. Today it is a leading Christian publisher. In 1997, he founded Literary Management Group, a full-service literary agency and publishing firm that has represented many best-selling authors.

Hunt is one of today’s most prolific novelists. She has written approximately 115 books, with 4 million copies sold worldwide. She has won more than a dozen awards, including the Christy Award for the nation’s outstanding Christian novel.

Along with Barbour and Hunt, 15 other speakers will be on the program. They include book publishers, magazine editors, novelists, nonfiction book authors, magazine writers and others.
