Gedena O. Munger, 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in a Cleveland health care facility.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was retired from Jack’s Cleaners after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde O. Munger; her parents, Lester Crowe and Vallie Clark Crowe; she was a Gold Star mother of her son, John R. Munger, who lost his life in Vietnam in 1970; and a brother, Clyde Crowe.

She is survived by her son, Clyde Doyle Munger and wife, R. Lynn, of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Helen E. Munger of Columbia, S.C., Ian J. Wolfe Munger of Cleveland and Candyce Curran and husband, Joey, of Augusta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren: Brian Drew Stubbs of Pensacola, Fla., and Steven Mann of Cleveland; one brother, Bill Crowe of California; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Johnnie Humberd officiating.

Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
