Cleveland Dance and Performing Arts Center competed against dozens of dance studios from around the state and area for prestigious top honors at the State Dance championships recently.

The highest score of the entire competition out of 250 entries went to “This Year’s Love” — receiving an Ultimate Platinum and placing first overall in Teen Competitive Duet/Trio.

Those receiving double platinum were:

Allie Reid, Olivia Orr, Jaidyn James, Shelbee Jordan, Makenna Baker, Emily Derrick (2), Lexi Valliere (2), Caitlyn Lynn, “Baby Mine,” “Smile Girls,” “My Imaginary Friend,” “When You’re Alone,” “Rainbow Connection,” “Once Upon a Dream,” “Paper Dolls,” “Not Alone,” “I Do,” “The Village,” “Fortunate Ones,” “Beat Drop,” and Logan Griffith.

Platinum winners were: Cameron Davis, Ashley Harper, Abbi Cook, “My Furry Friends,” “The Secret of Eleanor Rigby.”

Placing first in their categories, also, were: Jaidyn James, Shelbee Jordan, Makenna Baker, Emily Derrick, Lexi Valliere, Abbi Cook, “Baby Mine,” “Smile Girls,” “When You're Alone,” “Once Upon a Dream,” “Paper Dolls,” “I Do,” “The Village,” “Beat Drop,” Danielle Farrell and Logan Griffith.

CDPAC will have July open house and registration July 9, noon to 8 p.m. for The July Summer Intensive and Kids Dance Camp; 2013-14 Avant Garde Company auditions and evaluations will be July 27; fall open house and registration will be Aug. 6 from noon to 8 p.m. The Chattanooga studio will have its grand opening and registration Aug. 1 from noon to 8 p.m.
