CHATTANOOGA — Eight local linksters traveled south Thursday for the Tennessee Golf Association Toyota Junior Tour at Brown Acres Golf Course. Five of them came home with Top 3 finishes.

Cleveland High junior Heidi Barringer earned top honors in the Girls’ 16-18 Masters division with a 10-over 82. The Ocoee resident shot a 40-42 to outdistance her nearest competition by five strokes.

Walker Valley sophomore Katie Medley and Polk County junior Lauren Passmore both brought home runner-up awards.

Medley carded an 89 to take second place in the Girls’ 15-under Masters, while Rheagan Hall of Charleston took third in the age bracket with a 97.

Passmore was bested only by Soddy-Daisy’s Jayla Sims in the Girls’ 12-18 Tour division after firing an 87.

The day’s low score among local participants earned Dylan Lillard a third place finish in the Boys’ 13-15 Masters. The Walker Valley sophomore shot 38 on the front nine and 40 after the turn for a 6-over 78. Cleveland High sophomore Tucker Jones claimed eighth place in the same bracket with an 89.

In the Boys’ 13-under Masters, Riceville’s Cade Puryear shot an even-par 37 on nine holes to take the top spot, while Cleveland’s Drew Linkous claimed the fifth slot with a 45.

Grace Medley of Cleveland earned sixth place in the Girls’ 12-18 Tour with a 61.
