Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union’s chief financial officer, Todd Fortner, has been promoted to executive vice president.

“I am really looking forward to working with Todd in his expanded role as our executive vice president as we build and grow for the future,” said W. Blake Strickland, the credit union’s president and CEO. “Todd will help us take advantage of the many opportunities that lie ahead for TVFCU.”

Fortner joined TVFCU in 2005 as chief financial officer after an extensive background in the financial services industry. Upon graduation from Tennessee Tech University, he served as an auditor with Hazlett, Lewis and Bieter Certified Public Accountants in Chattanooga for five years. He was chief financial officer for AOD Credit Union in Bynum, Ala., for several years and later became a financial adviser, providing investment planning services. Prior to joining TVFCU, he served as controller for First Financial Bank in Bessemer, Ala.

He has served on the board of directors for the Mid-East Tennessee Community Credit Union in Decatur, and currently serves as board treasurer for the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults in Chattanooga.

Upon his graduation from the Credit Union Executive Society’s CEO Institute, he was named one of the “Rising 100” in the next generation of credit union leaders.

Todd and his wife, Rebecca, live in Chattanooga, near Red Bank.
