Robert “Bob” Bergquist, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was the son of the late Frances McPheeters Bergquist and Frank O. Bergquist. His wife, Pauline Bergquist, and his brother, James C. Bergquist, also preceded him in death.

He was retired from International Harvester as a supervisor with more than 19 years of service. He also drove a truck for Snyder Trucking for five years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Philippine Sea. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 84 and the 40/8 Organization. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Angola, Ind. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Mipazh Shrine Temple, both in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was an avid bowler, fisherman and he enjoyed being on the water. He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his brother, Ron Bergquist and his wife, Patty, of Greeneville; his sister, Jean Keuneke of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and several nieces and nephew.

The Remembrance of Life graveside service and interment will be held Friday, June 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. from the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be given.

The North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of arrangements.
