Cleveland Dance and Performing Arts Center and the Avant Garde Dance Company recently held their ninth annual spring recital at The Dixon Center of Lee University. Haley Truelove, the daughter of Schnell Cross and Mark Truelove, was crowned 2013 Miss CDPAC. She will be a senior this fall.  Miss CDPAC is voted on by the dance students of CDPAC as well as the dancers of the Avant Garde Company. Haley Truelove, the daughter of Schnell Cross and Mark Truelove, was crowned 2013 Miss CDPAC. She will be a senior this fall. Miss CDPAC is voted on by the dance students of CDPAC as well as the dancers of the Avant Garde Company.

Other awards given that night were:

— Logan Griffith, First Runner-up Miss CDPAC; Emily Derrick, Second Runner-up Miss CDPAC; Cheyenne Bramlett, Most Improved Dancer; Makenna Baker, Junior Spirit Award; Aspen Dressler, Senior Spirit Award; Averie Rodriguez, Tiny Tot Dancer of the Year; Lexi Knoll, Mini Dancer of the Year; Emma Johnson, Petite Dancer of the Year; Madison Killian, Junior Dancer of the Year; Blaire Brooks, Teen Dancer of the Year; Sunnie Reagan, Senior Dancer of the Year; and Kylee Burmeister, Melissa Huggins Jones Memorial Scholarship.

In the May competition at State Dance Championship, Presley McDermott received double platinum and Micala Cash received platinum.

CDPAC will have July Registration July 9 from noon to 8 p.m. Additional registration dates are July 10 and 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. Fall Open House for new and transfer students is Aug. 6 from noon to 8 p.m. Registration dates for returning students is Aug. 7 through 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. The second location in Chattanooga will have its grand opening Aug. 1, from noon to 8 p.m.
