Virginia Louise Scott, 96, passed away at SkyRidge Hospital on Monday, July 8, 2013, in Cleveland.

She was born to the late Abner and Molly Baine in Lebanon.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, William Scott; her sisters: Clyde Baine, Shirley Redd, Percy Baine, Brownie Baine, Mable Parks, and Ollie Tate; brothers: Robert Baine, Owen Baine, Ernest Baine, Taff Baine, Roy Jarrett, French Jarrett, James Jarrett and C.W. Jarrett.

She was a member of St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America were she served in every capacity as needed. She worked as a school crossing guard for many years in the Detroit School System. She later opened her own salon in Michigan were she lived most of her life before moving back to Cleveland and continue to work as a beautician. She was a woman of distinction.

She traveled many places around the world with her favorite place being Jerusalem. Her charming personality made her family feel welcome at all times. She was a joy to be around, because of her sweet positive attitude, along with her laughter. She was excited to have visitors, and would always tell you “come back and see me.”

She leaves to cherish her memories many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special nephew, James “Peter” Bain; special niece, Dorothy Baker; and her nieces who gave her care, Phyllis Tucker and Nena George; and best friend, Ruby Woods.

Her body may be viewed Thursday, from 9 a.m to 7 p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair St. S.E. Cleveland.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 12, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home. The service will begin at 2 p.m.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

The Rev. Rhonda S. Westfield of St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with be the eulogist.
