She has accepted the chairmanship of the Tennessee Distinguished Young Women’s program. She is taking over from Charles and Traci Fant, who have guided the program for the last few years.
“I love working with young ladies and preparing them for life,” Free said.
She encourages them to be the “best they can.”
She has worked extensively with young ladies helping them develop their social skills, personal appearance and interview skills.
“Volunteering is a big part of my life,” she said. “If I can make a difference in one lady’s life, it’s worth my time and energy.”
Free, who is a broker/affiliate with Keller Williams Realty, has served as Tennessee governor for the Pilot Club International, as a member of the Red Cross board, Emergency Shelter board and with the Salvation Army. She is a member of the Sunrise Rotary. She also is on the state Women’s Board for the Church of God of Tennessee.
She is the widow of Dr. Ronald Free. She has two children and four grandchildren.
