The bride is the daughter of Lisa and Greg Whitehead of Cleveland. She is the granddaughter of Patricia A. Thomas and Sylvia Whitehead, both of Cleveland, the late Willard Harold Whitehead and the late James McAlpine Hawpe.
The bridegroom is the son of Yvette and Charles D. Gomez Sr. of Chesapeake. He is the grandson of Aida Valles of Philadelphia, and the late Miriam and Bernard Gomez.
The wedding ceremony was officiated by Shawnessey Cargile of Calhoun, Ga. Nuptial music was presented by guitarist Josh Risinger, soloist Chuck Gomez and duet composed of Cargile and the bridegroom’s sister, Amanda Gomez of Chesapeake.
Escorted by her parents, the bride was attended by Cassie Scoggins of Cleveland, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Patterson, Brandi Haynie, Anna Fair and Charlene Mason, all of Cleveland, Cassie Rose of Chattanooga and the bridegroom’s sister Amanda.
Emily Patterson of Cleveland was flower girl; Carson Baxter and Jackson Baxter, both of Cleveland, were ring bearers. Luke and Liam Patterson of Cleveland were honorary ring bearers.
The father of the bridegroom served him as best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Graham of Atlanta, Sean Rubino of Ridgecrest, Calif., Eric Garman of Luray, Va., the bride’s brothers Dane Whitehead and Brett Whitehead, both of Cleveland, and Danny Olivera of Chattanooga.
The reception was held at The Barn at High Point Farms.
Lauren Gaddis attended the bride’s book. Meghan Atchley and Kacie Wilkes presented readings.
The newlywed couple resides in Redlands, Calif., where Dr. Gomez has started is orthopedic residency.
Mrs. Gomez graduated from Cleveland State Community College's nursing program in 2007 and obtained her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2011. Mr. Gomez is a 2008 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a 2013 graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis. They are both employed at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California.
