The Foothills Country Fair has a reputation for offering family fun and unique entertainment in a safe environment.

This year’s Fair is being taken to the next level with a concert by legendary Country Music Hall of Famer Ricky Skaggs on Friday.

And now, two surprise guests have been announced.

Fair Chairman Louie Alford has confirmed the U.S. Money Mules will appear exclusively at the fair. There are no other appearances for the mules planned this year, he said.

“We are hoping to set an attendance record because the response we have gotten is just through the roof,” said Alford. “Now that the Money Mules are going to be available for the public to see, I can honestly say that we have never put on a show like this.”

Alford said the U. S. Money Mules are the mascots for Cleveland-based U.S. Money Shops. The two mules are in high demand for appearances, but requests are seldom granted in order to make each show special.

“The mules have a large following and whenever they agree to come to a show, the response is always great,” said Alford. “We want everyone to know that they can come out and have their pictures taken and enjoy the mules as much as possible. After all, it could be another year before they are seen again.”

While the mules are confirmed for the fair, the Cashdales from Check Into Cash will not be attending due to a last-minute schedule change. Alford said the Clydesdale horses have been asked to appear in the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Parade in Canton, Ohio, and could not turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer.

“We would have loved for the Cashdales to be here, but this is show business, and things change,” Alford said. “However, the Cashdales will be back in town for the Christmas parade, so now we have something to look forward to.”

Alongside the Money Mules, the legendary Ricky Skaggs performance on Friday will ensure this year’s fair will have potentially a record attendance. Skaggs’ one-time-only appearance is made possible solely by a sponsorship by Check Into Cash.

The Foothills Country Fair will once again offer many favorite attractions and events.

“From pageants and games to the KCBS Barbecue Contest and demolition derby, everything that Clevelanders love about the fair will be back and better than ever,” Alford said. “This year’s barbecue fest will also be special, as several famous Pitmaster BBQ cookers will be attending.”

He added, “Nobody who comes to the fair this year is ever going to forget it. We’ve grown the fair substantially over the last 10 years, but this year’s event will remind people why Cleveland is the best place to live in the world, and that it doesn’t get better than the Foothills Country Fair.”
