The White Oak Longbeards Chapter will be holding its fundraising banquet Saturday at Walker Valley High School.

The National Wild Turkey Federation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of the hunting heritage.

The NWTF will use funds raised at the banquet to help fund future events for youth through the JAKES program, women through the Women in the Outdoors program and the disabled through the Wheelin’ Sportsmen program.

Some monies will also be used for habitat work for upland game species. The new initiative, “Save the Habitat — Save the Hunt,” is a focus to conserve more than 4 million acres of habitat, create 1.5 million new hunters and open access to 500,000 new acres of hunting opportunities.

The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m.
