There will be a library tour on Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. beginning in the lobby. This is a way to see the behind-the-scenes action at the library. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and no reservations are required.
The Career Coach will be in the library parking lot on Monday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Career Coach is provided by The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
These vehicles will arrive on the scene and provide a mobile computer lab with Internet access; create a venue for workshops including résumé assistance and interviewing skills; and assistance in completing job applications. Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland will host its 10th annual Teddy Bear Picnic Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the library. Preschool and elementary-aged children are invited to this free family event.
Bring your favorite Teddy Bear of “Lovie” decorated in a special way for a chance to be crowned “Mr. and Miss Teddy Bear Picnic.” Activities include crafts, face painting, stories, coloring, entertainment and snacks.
Tween activities for this week are Book Chatter on the Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. and Pokemon Club at 11 a.m. The movie “The Hideaways,” based on the book “From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frank Weiler” by E.L. Konigsburg for Book Chatter will be shown.
Teens will be meeting on Aug. 15 for Hooked: Teen Knitting and Crocheting, at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone area.
There will be an e-book reader workshop for Apple devices held Aug. 16 from noon to 2 p.m. This workshop will teach you how to download free books with the R.E.A.D.S. service. Call the Non-Fiction desk to reserve your spot.
